Winner of the 2008 N.S.W Writer’s Centre Open Book Award (Children’s Literature) for his first book, “Iso and the Bushfire”, J.D. Shaw’s second book, “Spit It Out!” (Short Texts and Poetry) was published in May 2010.
J.D. Shaw’s writing revolves around the inherent madness in our aspirational world. He builds untidy sandcastles from the dirt of politics, culture, and the human syndrome – the I versus the Us J.D. Shaw is working on a novel set in the post climate change world of western New South Wales, where water is new gold and corporate bottling companies fight for every last drop from depleted aquifers.
JD Shaw's poem 'Len' was published in the July edition of wet ink magazine www.wetink.com.au and his poem 'Spark’ will be published in the Poetic Christie Press www.poeticachristi.org.au Anthology 'Eveyday Splendor' later in 2010.
